No Doubt are back and partying like they never left in their smash new single “Settle Down”…Video

After a lengthy hiatus, No Doubt is back, and in a big way. Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young have once again joined forces to bring devoted fan’s “Settle Down,” their first single off upcoming album Push and Shove. The Diplo-produced track is the band’s first studio album since 2001′s Rock Steady.

It’s been about 9 years, but No Doubt are back and partying like they never left. That’s the big takeaway from “Settle Down,” the lead single from the band’s upcoming sixth studio album, Push and Shove. Packed with reggae beats, steel drums and Gwen Stefani’s unmistakable voice, the song is a showcase for the island sound the band pursued on their last studio album, 2001′s Rock Steady.

There’s not a whole lot of plot, probably because there doesn’t need to be. Instead, No Doubt return with another good-time, high-energy video (albeit one with a lot of product placement … someone’s gonna be selling a whole lot of neon watches), and really, it’s all their fans could have asked for. “Settle Down” finds the band at their party-ready prime, shaking off the rust of a decade away — though it’s obvious Stefani’s solo forays into pop weigh heavily here — and having a total blast.

Settle down diehard fans! No Doubt’s new single proves they have not only been able to keep their classic catchy style, but also reinvent their reggae-infused beat to attract a new generation of musical rebels curious about the band’s full album Push and Shove due out on Sept 25, 2012. The band perform at the Teen Choice Awards this Sunday, July 22, and No Doubt will continue to dominate your television the rest of the month with a performance at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on June 26th, and another set a few hours later on Good Morning America on July 27th.

A treat for the eyes and the ears, it’s the kind of video we grew up expecting from them — we just didn’t realize how much we took it for granted until they were gone. The heck with art, let’s dance.
