Justin Bieber releases his Darkchild-produced single ‘Maria’ from his anticipated album Believe….~New Music

After a long wait, Justin Bieber has released his song “Maria,” the song about the woman who accused him of fathering her child, sounds familiar? Less than a week from the release of Justin Bieber’s new album, the track which seems to be getting the most coverage is “Maria.”

The song is about Mariah Yeater, the woman who accused Bieber of fathering her child last year. As promised by Bieber, the song very much does resemble Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”

The line, “She’s not my baby / she’s not my girl” resonates with the line, “She’s just a girl who claims that I am the one / But the kid is not my son,” from Jackson’s hit.

Bieber is obviously not a fan of Yeater’s or what she put him through with her accusations.

“She’s in the magazines / she’s on the TV making a scene / she’s crazy.”

Last year, Yeater came out saying she had met Bieber at one of his shows and had later gotten pregnant. Bieber claimed he had not only not fathered her child, but had never even met her.He later took a paternity test and proved the child was not his.

The song starts with media recordings of the controversy, including a Matt Lauer interview where Lauer said “Obviously this is what comes along with life in the fast lane.”

The song is a play-by-play summary of what she said happened, which is also the theme of “Billie Jean.” Through the song, it sounds like Bieber felt her intentions had more to do with him liking her than any amount of money or attention involved.

“She wanted my attention / she was dying for my affection.”

Bieber’s album Believe, which features the song “Maria,” comes out Tuesday June 19th, and Justin kicks off his U.S. tour in September.
